“Tiago’s Auto Spa” (“Tiago’s,” “we,” “us,” “our”) operates automotive detailing and protection services in Greater Vancouver, including mobile services.

2) Scope
This Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard personal information when you visit our website, submit forms, call or text us, book an appointment (in-shop or mobile), purchase products, or otherwise interact with us.
3) Laws we follow
We handle personal information under British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). Commercial electronic messages are sent under CASL. Where applicable, we also honour carrier rules for A2P (10DLC) SMS.
4) What we collect
Identity & contact: name, phone, email, postal address.
Vehicle & service data: make/model, year, VIN (if provided for film/coating registration), condition notes, before/after photos and videos, requested packages (e.g., interior/exterior details, paint correction, ceramic/PPF/tint).
Booking & transaction data: appointment details, deposits, payments, gift certificates, customer service notes.
Communications: emails, call logs, SMS content/metadata (timestamps, delivery status) for scheduling/support.
Website & device data: IP address, pages viewed, referrers, approximate location, cookie identifiers, analytics (see §13).
Recruitment (careers): resume details you send us (skills, work history, contact details).
5) How we collect it
Directly from you: website forms, phone, email, SMS, in-person at our shop, and on-site through our Mobile Division.
Automatically: cookies, pixels, analytics, and similar technologies on the website.
From service providers: payment processors, scheduling/messaging platforms, warranty vendors (e.g., film/coating registration), couriers.
6) Why we use it (Purposes)
Provide services: estimates, booking, in-shop and mobile work, after-care and warranties.
Customer communications: confirmations, reminders, changes, support.
A2P SMS programme: appointment updates, reminders, occasional promotions (details in §11).
Payments & admin: invoicing, receipts, accounting, fraud prevention.
Quality & safety: vehicle inspection notes, before/after documentation, facility security.
Marketing (consent-based): testimonials, photos/videos of vehicles (you can opt out before service).
Recruitment: evaluate candidates who apply.
Legal/compliance: respond to lawful requests, enforce terms, maintain records.
7) Our legal bases (PIPA/PIPEDA concepts)
Consent (express or implied) for most collection/uses, especially marketing and SMS.
Contractual necessity to deliver services you request.
Legitimate interests (quality control, security, analytics) balanced with your rights.
Legal obligations (tax, receipts, warranty records).
8) Consent and your choices
We obtain consent when you submit forms, provide a phone number/email, text us first, or opt in verbally/in writing.
Withdraw anytime: email us, adjust preferences, or reply STOP to SMS (one confirmation message follows).
If you refuse/withdraw consent for essential uses (e.g., contact info for an active booking), we may be unable to provide service.
9) Sharing your information
We share personal information only as needed with:
Service providers: website hosting, booking/messaging platforms, analytics, payment processors, email/SMS delivery, film/coating/tint vendors for warranty registration, and couriers.
Legal & safety: if required by law, to protect rights, safety, or prevent fraud/abuse.
Business changes: if we reorganise or sell parts of our business, information may transfer under comparable protections.
We do not sell personal information or SMS consent lists.
10) International transfers
Some providers store/process data outside Canada (e.g., the United States). We use contractual and organisational safeguards to ensure comparable protections to Canadian standards.
11) SMS Messaging Programme (A2P 10DLC)
Opt-in methods: (a) submit a form with your mobile number and check the SMS consent box; (b) text our business number first; (c) consent during booking; or (d) in-person consent.
Purpose & frequency: appointment scheduling/updates, reminders, limited promotions; recurring; typically 1–4 messages per appointment.
Cost: message/data rates may apply.
Opt-out: reply STOP (accepted synonyms: STOP, END, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE, QUIT). You’ll receive a one-time confirmation.

Eligibility: you must be the account holder or have the subscriber’s permission.
Carrier liability: carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Records: we keep time-stamped opt-ins/opt-outs and delivery data for compliance.
12) Photos, video & testimonials
We document vehicles for quality control and may request permission to share before/after imagery. Tell us before service if you prefer no public use and we’ll honour it.
13) Cookies & analytics
What we use: essential cookies (security, session) and, with consent where required, analytics/pixel tools to understand site usage and improve services.
Your options: set browser controls to block cookies (some features may not work), use opt-out links where provided, or decline non-essential cookies in our banner (if shown).
14) Data retention
We keep personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes above and to meet legal, tax, and warranty obligations, then securely delete or anonymise it. Typical examples:
Service records & invoices: statutory retention (tax/audit).
Photos for quality control: kept for a reasonable period after service unless you request deletion.
SMS consent logs: for the life of your consent plus a compliance period.
15) Safeguards
We apply administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the data, including role-based access, device security, encrypted transport where supported, and least-privilege practices. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
16) Your rights
Subject to PIPA/PIPEDA, you can request access, correction, or deletion of your personal information, or ask questions about our practices. We will respond within statutory timelines and may require identity verification.
17) Children
Our services are intended for adults/vehicle owners. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without guardian consent. If you believe a child provided information, contact us and we will delete it.
18) Third-party links and content
Our site links to third-party websites/resources (e.g., manufacturers, social channels). We are not responsible for their privacy practices or content.
19) Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. The effective date is at the top. Material changes will be highlighted on the site or by direct notice when appropriate.
